POSTED BY MEGHAN
ON 02.11.08 9:12 PM

It's time for another round of viewer mail! Here's another sampling of some of the submissions we have received in February alone. We continue to be overwhelmed by the positive feedback coming from cool places all across the globe. Thanks again to everyone for all the kind words and support. Our inbox is never empty so we do our best to make sure each and every message is read. We are so grateful for your enthusiasm and your words of encouragement really make the difference when we're on the road and in the middle of what seems like chaos. Thanks again!

P.S. I'm going to be off the trail for a few days recovering from an awful cold... so we'll be posting a "Viewer Playlist" in the coming days as well...

Your blog totally rocks. After going through your blog, reading your commentary, noticing your fashion and music choice, you will be by far the COOLEST First Kid who has ever rocked the White House!

Sara from Ashland, Kentucky wrote:
I love this blogette and really appreciate the behind-the-scenes look at the campaign. It shows that those campaigning are human, a fact that seems to be lost on some of the populace. Also, the more youthful point of view that is displayed might actually inspire a larger turnout from younger voters. You're doing a really good thing here. Keep up the awesome work. On a partly unrelated note to what I have just said; I really dig the playlists. The diversity is refreshing.

"C" from Overgaard, Arizona writes:
Your blog may be the most fascinating one I have ever read. :) How great is it to have 3 generations of smart fashionistas (especially the 96-year-old one!)who are also down-to-earth - "keeping it real" as you say. Your pictures tell a lot about how much fun you all have on the trail and how the campaign staff is like one big family with your family. Thank you for giving us this sneak peek behind the scenes.

Filippo from Lucca, Italy wrote:
A very cool blog. You talk about politic in a very good, easy going and kinda funny way... good job girl!!!

Esben from Denmark writes:
I found your blog accidently when reading about the primary elections on the web, and I am impressed by your openness. It is cool to see how a campaign can be from a daughter to a candidate's point of view. BTW, I like your taste in music. Keep posting those playlists.

"Music to Everyone's Ears"
POSTED BY MEGHAN
ON 02.08.08 7:48 PM

OK, so from the responses we've received the last few weeks, it looks like tons of you love the musical selections we've been posting... so we'll be getting to some fan suggestions next week. As you know, I love the vibe and emotion I get from music... I take that energy and run with it. But an interesting thing happens when you're a music fan - there's always some great irony in between life and art. I posted a link to the Ramone's "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg)" yesterday and some people seem to think there's some message in the fact that it was written in part as a criticism of a trip President Reagan made to Bitburg, West Germany in May 1985. Wow... I happen to like the song and figured it was a bit of an edgy choice considering the content... BUT those of you who know that, also probably know Johnny Ramone was a proud Republican and big fan of President Reagan who insisted the title of the song be changed to its refrain. So if you've been following along with us these last few months, you already know things aren't always what they seem on the Blogette... enjoy the song... love the irony... and keep watching... it's only bound to get more fun!

"It's not the destination,
it's the journey..."

POSTED BY MEGHAN

"It's not the destination, it's the journey" could be my life mantra and it seems a more pertinent statement now more than ever. Winning or losing is never (and will never) be what this is about for me. I am more grateful for this experience than I can ever describe. To everyone who made it all possible, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Here's a quick breakdown of Super Tuesday. (Forgive me for not being able to explain this in any other way but through artists much more eloquent than me.)

Waking up at 5 am to go to The Today Show on Super Tuesday felt like: The Ramones' "My Brain is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg)."

Riding on the plane for 5 hours to San Diego felt like: Rufus Wainwright's "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk (Reprise)."

Having such a rockin' Super Tuesday felt like: Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough."

And finally, how I feel right now (in fact this is one of my campaign theme songs): Christina Aguilera's "Here to Stay".

We left the hotel at 6 a.m. (while it was still dark outside) to make it to The Today Show

Good friend Linda holding a sign in the lobby before The Today Show

Matthew McConaughey was on after Dad

Governor Crist and friends on stage for the rally in New York

Yeah!

I used to work at Rockefeller Center!

Look at these supporters' faces!

And his boots....

On stage

They were both pretty funny

Funniest freaking sign I've seen so far

We "borrowed" it

I broke another heel off a boot

Watching the polls come in...

Longtime family friend Dalton

Wendy and her parents

Rockstars of the campaign: Carla and Mark

Mary-Anne and Mary-Kaye

Judy Black is so much fun

There was this weird loft where we watched the polls come in upstairs

Heather's parents and the Jones'

Having a moment with my amazing little sister

On stage!

The crowd was so pumped, the energy was electric

Laughing...

Crowd downstairs

I made a very uncharacteristicly early exit and was in bed by midnight. I met these women on the way out who were so sweet and had kind words to say about the blog.
