"Parallel Universe"

Yesterday was spent flying around to various states (Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts, just to name a few). At one of the stops, we had one of the biggest rallies I've ever been to and, for the first time since I was young, I got nervous on stage next to my Dad.
Lots of things are changing: yesterday a motorcade followed the bus; I got nervous on stage because of the size of the crowd; the crowds are so large, I'm having trouble picking out Heather and Shannon among all of the people; and, someone I didn't know recognized me at a restaurant. It feels a little like a parallel universe compared to just a few months ago. In all honesty, I'm having major growing pains with it all. Since I communicate best through music, it all feels like the song "Parallel Universe" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
One more day until Super Tuesday...

"Southern Swing"

Yesterday we made five stops in one day: Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Washington, D.C. By the time I finally got to our hotel in D.C., I passed out with my clothes on.
The Southern states have the best vibe. In Alabama, the song they used to rev up the crowd was "Sweet Home Alabama" and the whole crowd sang along. Southern culture is just as hospitable and well-mannered as its reputation.
I would like to thank our extremely sweet flight attendant, Sonia, for giving me extra snacks on the plane when I was hungry. :) Happy Super Bowl everyone! Only two more days until Super Tuesday...
Song of the day: Waylon Payne's "Running from the Rain"

There was a meet and greet at this log cabin in Tennessee and I kept thinking of Johnny Cash for some reason
